Last Friday over 80 golfers drove out to High Bridge, NJ for a great round of golf.  Although we haven't totaled everything up, this year's outing is looking to be one of the best.  The day started off as one of the nicest days so far this spring: 72 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, low humidity and very little wind.  Of course by tee-time that had to change as the wind picked up and some clouds rolled in.  We even had some sprinkles of rain towards the end of the round.

Some things went very well this year and some things did not.  Since we are in a constant state of improvement, I put together a survey (on the home page) in order to gather some feedback so that we can make next year's outing even more successful.

Also, check out the gallery for some pictures from this year's outing.

Once again, thank you to all for coming out to the outing, participating in the raffle and the silent auction.  All of this helps us continue to help PushAmerica!

The Masters

April is inspirational. Not for the usual stuff like new growth, spring, etc, but for sports.  Since the beginning of February, after the Super Bowl, all we have had to keep us going is basketball and hockey.  Granted with the Rangers this year and Knicks it has not been bad, but in fact exciting.  The Pirates gave us bubble hopes and then they were quickly burst.  And I won't even get started on off-season football drama!!

Today however is opening day for baseball (opening night last night) and the start of The Masters!  Both significant rites of Spring.  The Masters particularly should be inspirational to us golfers.  The first of the Major tournaments and probably the most storied always give me inspiration to take my clubs out of winter storage, dust them off and head over to my local range to hit a bucket.  Or even book a weekend to Myrtle Beac

With the Pi Kappa Phi Golf Classic less than two months away, I recommend that everyone get to the range and/or a practice green!  Consider this your chance to get in some Spring Training!  On second thought just stay on the couch and watch baseball - I want to win a contest hole or two!!

We are pleased to announce the 2012 Pi Kappa Phi Golf Classic! Our 9th Annual Tournament!

Friday, June 1st
8am sign-in / breakfast
9am Tee-off

Once again we will be hosting this great day of golf.  This year at High Bridge Hills Golf Club in High Bridge, NJ.  This is very close to last year's outing in Annandale, NJ.

Every year we raise several thousand dollars to Benefit PUSH America.  PUSH America is the National Philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, with a focus on benefiting people with disabilities through several programs including the Journey of Hope.  You can read more about PUSH America here.

Over the last several years we have had raffles and auctions during the luncheon.  Prizes have included tickets to several professional sporting events in the NY Metro area including the NY Yankees, NJ Nets, NY Jets, Red Bulls and minor league baseball teams Lakewood Blue Claws and Somerset Patriots.  We have also have had various sports collectibles, jerseys and memorabilia.  Other prizes include shirts, hats, sets of golf ball and golf bags, gift certificates to area restaurants and businesses, bottles of wine, tool bags and even a small car vacuum and a single bottle wine chiller.  If someone donates an old Christmas fruitcake we will give that away as well.

Feel free to explore this website.  It is our first attempt at an online presence for the outing.  You will find links to the course where you can get a look at some of the holes and the scorecard, a gallery of pictures from past outings, links to PUSH America to see what one of our main reasons for doing this is, information on ways to donate and sponsorship opportunities and be sure to visit our registration page to sign up your foursome.  We are also including the capability to pay online this year.

Let us know what you think and we hope to see you all on links on June 1st!
